ATTENTION! Actually, at ease. Proper Cornwall is an informal place so let’s pretend we’re in the mess rather than on a march! Welcome to Armed Forces Day 2024, which is expected to place across Falmouth on Saturday 29 June 2024, between 10am and 10.30am. This is huge day of activities and events all paying tribute to our armed forces.

Okay, this is all yet to be confirmed but what we do know is that Armed Forces Day 2024 in the UK will be on Saturday 29 June 2024. As soon as we can confirm whether the location will be Falmouth once again and all the other details, we will let you know here.

But wherever it is held, expect flying displays in the air and military parades on the ground. Experience Proms-style concerts and see marching bands, military vehicles and a load of fireworks in the sky. So many activities and events will take place on the day, plus on the Friday and Sunday too.

Here are some of the 2023 highlights:

The Armed Forces Day 2023 Military Parade started from The Moor at 11am on the Saturday and marched all the way down the seafront before ending at Events Square in Discovery Quay at 11.30am.

A Veterans Hub and a Family and Market Zone were at The Moor events and community space.

A Grub Hub was at Custom House Quay.

A Charities Zone was at the Church Street Car Park. This was open 11am-5pm on the Friday and Saturday, and 11am-4pm on the Sunday.

A Joint Military Village was in Grove Place and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall‘s car parks. This was open 9am-6pm on the Saturday.

An Entertainment Zone was in Events Square.

A Proms-style Concert was held at Pendennis Castle.

Flying Displays and Parachute Drops were across the waters around the seafront. A Fly Past also followed the route of the parade.

Free public tours were also held around a Naval Frigate which was moored alongside the Wharf at Falmouth Docks are available between 10am and 2.30pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

And when is the Fireworks Display at Armed Forces Day 2024 in Falmouth? Well, this began at 10.40pm on the Saturday in 2023 and went for about 10 minutes over the whole of Falmouth Bay.
