BANDS IN THE SANDS 2025 BRINGS A SERIES OF ELECTRIFYING LIVE MUSIC EVENTS TO THE GOLDEN SHORES OF PERRANPORTH BEACH FROM MAY TO SEPTEMBER. EXPERIENCE INCREDIBLE ACTS RIGHT ON THE SAND, WITH THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AS YOUR BACKDROP.
Tunes in the Dunes has become a massive hit over the past decade, pulling in festival-goers from all over the country. Now, another musical series has carved out its own identity on Perranporth Beach: Bands in the Sands 2025. Less a festival and more a series of epic open-air concerts, it’s an unmissable addition to Cornwall’s summer music scene.
In 2023, Bands in the Sands debuted to massive fanfare. It’s less a festival, really, than a series of live music events on those golden dunes. Born from the fab live music events that have been run by nearby pub-on-the-beach The Watering Hole for many years (including Tunes in the Dunes, in fact), this series of concerts is unique, given that they all take place on the beach, next to the sea, over the hotter months.
Launched by the team behind The Watering Hole, the UK’s only bar on a beach, Bands in the Sands offers a more intimate yet equally thrilling experience than a full-scale festival. There’s nothing quite like listening to live music with your toes in the sand, the waves crashing in the background, and a cold drink in hand.
Who’s Playing at Bands in the Sands 2025? The Ibiza Proms on the Beach kicks things off on Friday 16 May, bringing the UK’s first-ever Ibiza Proms to Cornwall. Featuring the Ibiza Orchestra, Ellie Sax, and Love Deluxe, expect a high-energy night filled with dance classics, orchestral remixes, and an unbeatable beach party atmosphere.
On Saturday 17 May, Cornwall My Home celebrates homegrown talent with performances by The Oggymen and Jam & Meme. If you love shanties, folk tunes, and the sound of Cornwall, this is the night for you.
Later in the season, the nostalgia levels crank up as Blue, the iconic 00s boyband, take to the beach on Friday 5 September. Expect all their biggest hits, harmonies, and a singalong-worthy atmosphere under the summer sky.
Then on Saturday 6 September, the event switches things up with a Country Hoedown, perfect for fans of country music, line dancing, and a good old-fashioned night of foot-stomping fun. Dust off those cowboy boots and get ready for a night of country classics, twangy guitars, and plenty of two-stepping.
What Makes Bands in the Sands Special? Unlike most festivals, this isn’t a massive, multi-day camping affair. It’s a collection of carefully curated live gigs, each designed to make the most of Perranporth’s breathtaking beach setting. Whether you’re there for the throwback anthems, the Ibiza beats, or the sounds of Cornwall itself, every event is tailored for music lovers who want an unforgettable night by the sea.
Each show is hosted right next to The Watering Hole, the legendary beach bar that has been bringing live music to Perranporth for years. With its laid-back, friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a few drinks before the show, grab some food, and soak up the festival-like energy without the full festival commitment.
Tickets for all Bands in the Sands events are on sale now via the official website. As with previous years, these gigs are expected to sell out fast, so early booking is recommended.
For those travelling in for a gig, Perranporth offers plenty of accommodation options, from beachside campsites to hotels with stunning sea views. If you’re driving in, parking is available nearby, but spaces fill up quickly on gig nights. Public transport options and park-and-ride services are also worth considering to avoid the rush.
If you want to experience the magic of live music on the beach without the full-scale commitment of a festival, Bands in the Sands 2025 is the perfect summer event. Whether you’re after a nostalgic night of 00s pop, a soulful folk session, or a high-energy Ibiza experience, there’s something for every music fan.
