Hit the waves on Fistral Beach in Newquay to get your fix of adrenaline. Or maybe try the zip-line over at Adrenaline Quarry. Why not hit the go kart track at St Eval? Or just cosy up in Truro‘s Hall for Cornwall and watch some of the most high-adrenaline films out there right now at the Banff Mountain Film Festival 2022. Sometimes it’s better to hit an adrenaline high in the warm indoors.

Some of the world’s best adventure films are heading to the Hall for Cornwall on Wednesday 25 May for this awe-inspiring movie festival that tours the South West. The flicks bring ‘stories of extreme journeys into the wildest corners of the planet’ to the big screen with ‘inspirational characters, remote scenery and spectacular cinematography’ at the forefront of each tale. Films, which run for between just a few minutes’ long and almost an hour in length, include “Exit the North Pole”, which covers a 1,500km ski expedition in 24-hour darkness across the frozen Arctic Ocean via the North Pole, and “Dream Mountain”, which follows an elite climber who attempts a spectacular Nepalese peak.

These films are chosen from hundreds of entries into the Banff Mountain Film Festival, which is held every November in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. There was a previous run of these films in Truro in March. This day of fab flicks on 25 May should prove to be popular with cinematic thrill-seekers from across Cornwall. Plus, expect a free draw for ‘outdoorsy’ prizes. Click the website link below for more details and to book your tickets. Enjoy the ride!
