THE BOURNEMOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PLAY ST ENDELLION CHURCH ON FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER 2022 FROM 7PM. ENJOY A SPECIAL ‘CHRISTMAS CLASSICS’ PROGRAMME INSIDE THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE PLACE OF WORSHIP

Few symphony orchestras boast the prestige of the BSO. The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, originally based in the coastal town before moving to Poole next door in 1979, was founded in 1893 and has served the South and South West ever since. It plays a packed roster of concerts across the region every year with thousands of classical music lovers enjoying a moving and often intimate experience every time. Have you had the pleasure? If not, perhaps it’s time to see the BSO live when it comes to Cornwall in December.

There are plenty of great classical music concerts in Cornwall every year but the BSO does stand head and shoulders above most orchestras and ensembles who grace the Duchy. Catch the orchestra at the Collegiate Church of St Endellion near Port Isaac on Friday 9 December from 7pm. This is the BSO’s special ‘Christmas Classics’ programme so prepare to get festive as the strings serenade you and the percussion gets you into the festive spirit inside the idyllic countryside church.

The organisers at the church, which is famous for both its acoustics and its intimate surroundings, say that it will be ‘a very special concert of wintery Christmas classics’ with the orchestra’s ‘chamber ensemble of exceptional musicians’ performing ‘a programme of well-known festive tunes and seasonal songs’. It’s all geared towards getting the audience into the Christmas spirit and there’s even a festive quiz being run on the night too.

Entry is £12 and all accompanied under-16s go for free. To book your tickets, click on the ‘website’ link above. And then you will be off to church on 9 December to hear from one of the best orchestras in the region and to fill your heart with seasonal joy as the big festive day draws ever closer.
