THE CAMELFORD AGRICULTURAL SHOW IS EXPECTED TO RETURN ON WEDNESDAY 13 AUGUST 2025. ENJOY A DAY OUT WITH FARM ANIMALS, PRIZE-WINNING VEGETABLES AND A WELCOMING CROWD! THIS IS ONE OF THE OLDEST SHOWS IN CORNWALL.
Don’t turn up to this agricultural show expecting to find a camel or two. Despite the name, the Camelford Agricultural Show has nothing to do with desert beasts and everything to do with Cornwall’s rich rural traditions. Since 1906, this annual event has been a highlight of the local farming calendar, showcasing livestock, horticulture, crafts, food, and family-friendly entertainment in the heart of the Cornish countryside.
The 117th edition is expected to take place on Wednesday 13 August 2025 (the show traditionally falls on the second Wednesday of August) on land at Trevilla Farm near Camelford. Sitting between Tintagel, Bude, and Launceston, this long-standing celebration of farming and country life is run by the Camelford and District Agricultural Association.
The show’s return in 2025 will be extra special, as recent years have been a challenge. The 2023 event was cancelled due to severe weather, and the 2024 edition was postponed due to financial constraints. However, the Handicraft and Horticulture competitions still went ahead in 2024 at Otterham Village Hall, proving that community spirit is alive and well. Organisers have spent the past year fundraising and planning to ensure that Camelford Show 2025 will be worth the wait.
Expect an array of prize-winning animals, from horses, cattle, and sheep to dogs and poultry, competing across various show categories. The horticultural and vintage sections will also return, offering competitions in everything from vegetables to floral displays.
Beyond the farming exhibits, the Camelford Show is packed with entertainment for all ages. Families can enjoy children’s activities, live demonstrations, and a bustling market filled with local produce, artisan crafts, and street food stalls. Whether you fancy sampling some of the best Cornish food, browsing the handmade crafts, or simply soaking up the lively atmosphere, there’s plenty to keep visitors entertained throughout the day.
There’s a welcoming atmosphere and, all in all, this is a fun, fascinating, friendly and historical agricultural show in the heart of the Cornish countryside. If you’re looking for farm animals, kids’ entertainment, and local food, you can’t really go wrong.
