THE CORNWALL FOLK FESTIVAL 2024 TAKES PLACE IN WADEBRIDGE BETWEEN THURSDAY 22 AND MONDAY 26 AUGUST 2024. THIS IS THE BIG ONE, FOLKS! THE 51ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEST FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL IN CORNWALL!

You can’t beat a bit of folk music. Especially if it’s more than just a bit. In the case of the Cornwall Folk Festival 2024, it should be much more than just a bit. It should be an incredible amount of awesome live music between Thursday 22 August and Monday 26 August 2024.

The festival celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. Yes, half a century since the first edition. But in 2024, it’s the festival’s 51st edition and it shows no sign of being any lesser of a celebration of folk music than it was in 2023.

Expect folk bands and artists in spades at this annual extravaganza that’s been going since 1972. Welcome to Wadebridge for one of the premier folk music festivals in the South West.

Who’s playing the Cornwall Folk Festival 2024? Lady Maisery, The Trials of Cato, James Dixon, Tarren, Daphne’s Flight, Suthering and many other acts. Keep an eye on this page as we will update the lineup when more acts are announced.

In 2023, the Gigspanner Big Band were there, as were the Kinnaris Quintet, Sarah McQuaid, Windjammer and the inimitable Seth Lakeman.

Expect a ceilidh on the Thursday, with the main evening concerts taking place between Friday and Sunday. Also look forward to clubs, workshops, sessions, street music and dancing at the Cornwall Folk Festival 2024.

One of the most poignant moments of the weekend in August 2023 was undoubtedly a tribute to the late John The Fish, who was nothing short of Cornish folk music legend. The icon, whose real name was John Langford, was at the forefront of the 1960s Cornish folk scene and he is a major influence on countless folk acts today.

The gigs in 2024 all take place at the Town Hall in Wadebridge as well as at its The John Betjeman Centre. There are a few other locations as well so do check the official website by clicking on the ‘website’ link above for all the finer details.

Kid’s activities, face painting, local Cornish food offerings and ace ciders and beers. All that also happens at this famous folk festival in Wadebridge.
