A SPECIAL EUROVISION 2023 PARTY TAKES PLACE AT SPACEPORT CORNWALL’S SSOF BUILDING IN NEWQUAY ON SATURDAY 13 MAY 2023. THERE’LL BE A LIVE SCREENING ALONGSIDE PLENTY OF FOOD AND DRINK. AND YOU’RE INVITED…

Who will win this year’s Eurovision contest? Who knows as it’s all a bit of a lottery. But it’s also great fun and that fun can surely only be elevated to the stars if you watch the drama unfold over food and drinks at a, well, spaceport!

Yes, you read that right. Spaceport Cornwall’s new Space Systems Integration Facility (SSOF) is playing host to a special Eurovision 2023 final party on Saturday 13 May 2023 from 5pm until midnight. There will be a live screening of all the tuneful (and not-so-tuneful) action alongside live music performances and plenty of food and drink.

Independent media company CHAOS are behind the event as the organisation promises to bring ‘the atmosphere of Eurovision to the people of Cornwall’. A spokesman says: “It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy being with friends and family in a unique venue.”

Alongside all the musical fun, guests will also get to see a full-scale model of the LauncherOne rocket. And they will get to enjoy live performances from local artists, courtesy of BBC Introducing South West, playing in (we will say it again) a spaceport. This is the UK’s first operational spaceport which will launch satellites from UK soil. It is part of the Cornwall Airport Newquay site a few miles up the coast from Newquay, near St Mawgan.

The event is open to everyone aged 16 or over but guests under 18 years old will need to be accompanied by a paying adult. To snap up a ticket, click on the ‘website’ link above. And then you’ll be rocketing your way to the Eurovision final… in a spaceport!
