FALMOUTH WEEK 2025: CATCH THE RED ARROWS, ALL THE RACES, LIVE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT BETWEEN FRIDAY 8 AND SUNDAY 17 AUGUST 2025, WITH FALMOUTH SAILING WEEK 2024 TAKING PLACE FROM 12 TO 18 AUGUST 2025. HERE’S YOUR LOWDOWN…
For 10 days between Friday 8 and Sunday 17 August 2025, Cornwall’s southern jewel Falmouth becomes the backdrop for a mesmerising cacophony of happenings both on and off the land as all eyes turn to the annual Falmouth Week 2025 festivities.
Prepare for spills and thrills as daring extreme sports are performed on the harbourside alongside classic races. And definitely look forward to bellyaches full bellies as some of Cornwall’s finest foods flock to the pretty seaside town.
Falmouth Week dates back at least as far as 1837, when it was a small local regatta. But over the years, it’s become one of the South West’s biggest sailing competitions that takes place alongside almost two weeks of activities and entertainment in the world’s third deepest harbour and in the fabulous town that accompanies it.
Falmouth Week returns from Friday 8 to Sunday 17 August 2025, bringing a full-on mix of racing, revelry and red smoke trails to Cornwall’s south coast. What started as a humble regatta in 1837 has grown into one of the South West’s biggest summer spectacles – and this year’s line-up is looking like a proper belter.
At the heart of it all is Falmouth Sailing Week, running from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 August, with fleets from across the UK competing in the deep waters of the Fal. But it’s not just about the boats – shoreside, the town is buzzing with live music, markets, parades and family-friendly antics.
The week kicks off with the Pink Wig Mermaid March on Friday 8 August, raising funds for The Mermaid Centre. Expect a sea of pink, plenty of glitter and a cracking atmosphere. The following day, Saturday 9 August, the Falmouth Carnival takes over the streets with floats, costumes and dancing aplenty.
Music lovers are in for a treat at the Waterfront Marquee (Church Street Car Park), with nightly gigs including:
- Sunday 10 August – Fleetwood Bac and Too Petty
- Monday 11 August – Scouting for Girls
- Tuesday 12 August – Oasis vs Blur Britpop tribute dance-off
- Wednesday 13 August – Swift & Styles tribute in the afternoon, followed by Craig Charles Funk & Soul DJ Set in the evening
- Thursday 14 August – The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr plus Rudi’s Message
- Friday 15 August – The Bohemians (Queen tribute) plus The Retro Rock Show
- Saturday 16 August – 80s vs 00s Extravaganza
- Sunday 17 August – Comic, Movie & Anime Fest
The Falmouth Week Fireworks light up the harbour on Friday 15 August 2025, best viewed from Events Square, Custom House Quay and Prince of Wales Pier. In case of bad weather, the display will be postponed to Saturday 16 August.
Throughout the week, The Moor hosts family activities, including a vintage carousel, live music and an eclectic market. It’s a proper celebration of all things Cornish – sea, sky, music and merriment.
What time are the Red Arrows on at Falmouth Week 2025? The Red Arrows are traditionally one of the biggest draws of the week, showing that this festival really has evolved to cover land, sea and sky. In 2025, they’ll perform on Wednesday 13 August at 6.15pm over Falmouth Bay.
Where’s the best place to watch the Falmouth Week fireworks 2025? The annual firework display lights up the sky over the harbour on Friday 15 August. The best vantage points are traditionally from Events Square, Custom House Quay and all around Falmouth Harbour. Also recommended are the Docks Lookout Point and the Prince of Wales Pier. If the weather is poor, the display is likely to happen at the same time on the Saturday instead.
Where’s the best place to watch the Falmouth Sailing Week 2025 races? The famous sailing races take place out on the water between Sunday 10 August and Saturday 16 August 2025. Head to Falmouth’s seafront and harbourside to get the best views of the races – but prepare for big crowds if you haven’t got up with the lark to reserve a spot.
Instead, we recommend viewing the action from the River Fal’s many banks or, in fact, on the Pendennis Headland which juts out into the estuary and is home to Pendennis Castle. Both areas showcase the races as well as the town’s seafront with the added bonus of some beautiful scenery and fewer crowds.
Where’s the best place to park for Falmouth Week 2025? Pro tip: get there early each day if you want to find a parking space easily. Town Quarry Car Park on Quarry Hill and Well Lane Car Park on New Street are your best bets. Be aware that Church Street Car Park will be closed from 4 to 20 August 2025 for the duration of Falmouth Week.
What’s on at Falmouth Week 2025? Loads of stuff! Expect big-name gigs, comedy, food, fireworks, aerial displays, and family-friendly chaos across the town and seafront. We’ll keep this page updated as more details are announced.
