FAR WOOLLY WEST 2023 TAKES PLACE IN MARAZION ON SUNDAY 19 MARCH. THIS IS A BRAND NEW FESTIVAL THAT’S BEING BILLED AS A ‘GREAT CORNISH YARN FEST’. HEAD THERE BETWEEN 10AM AND 4PM ON MOTHER’S DAY
There’s been a fair few knitting, weaving and yarn festivals in Cornwall over the years but on Sunday 19 March, a new event that celebrates all things woolly rolls up in the Duchy. Far Woolly West 2023 takes place between 10am and 4pm at the Marazion Community Centre in Gwallon Lane, Marazion.
Exhibitors are expected to come from far and wide to the new festival, which is being organised by the Cornwall-Penwith Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. Members of the guild have said they ‘have lots of lovely traders’ coming to the event, where there will be a variety of demonstrations and opportunities for the public to ‘try spinning and weaving’.
The organisers also say that a knitting and crochet guild will also be there, so visitors are invited to bring their own knitting and join in with the fun and creative festivities. The event handily coincides with Mother’s Day in Cornwall 2023, so some special cream teas will be whipped up for the occasion alongside some other food and drink goodies.
Tickets to Far Woolly West cost £6 each and anyone is invited to go along, especially if they need a good yarn. Yeah, we couldn’t help ourselves there…
