Children go for free? At the Eden Project? During February half-term? Say it isn’t so!

Well, it is so. Kids officially go for free during a ‘week of spectacular science’ at the popular attraction in Cornwall over the February half-term 2024. Between Saturday 10 and Sunday 18 February 2024, the famous biomes near St Austell open for free to all five-to-16-year-olds who are accompanied by an adult (each!).

‘Explosive science experiments’ and ‘weird and wonderful technology’. These are being promised by the attraction during the 2024 February half-term in Cornwall during the ‘jampacked week’ that features UK scientific show ‘Ministry of Science’ and ‘Kids Invent Stuff’ from YouTube.

The ‘Ministry of Science’ live show will take place inside the attraction’s Mediterranean Biome. The organisers say that the team will ‘take a deep dive into the world of science and how it shapes the world we live in’. Also expect a host of workshops by the team where little ones can create their own fun science experiments.

The ‘Kids Invent Stuff’ YouTube channel will have all sorts of zany creations at the Eden Project for youngsters to enjoy, including a seed-shooting carrot car, a slime-launching robot and a lawn-mowing crocodile called Maria Croc-bot.

Other features of the week include a Discovery Zone in the Dome tent, with demos and experiments that explore ‘the ways we can make, eat and travel more sustainably’. Plus, the ice rink that was at the venue over Christmas will also be open for just a few more days.

On Tuesday 13 and Saturday 17 February 2024, relaxed Ministry of Science workshop sessions will be available at both 10.30am and 2pm for people with autism, sensory or communication needs, or who just want a quieter environment.

Pre-book the workshops online. It’s £1 per ticket for the workshops. In fact, pre-book your whole trip to the Eden Project over the February 2024 half-term in Cornwall. One child between five and 16 years old can go in for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The offer applies to one child per adult, however kids under five years old can go for free any time anyway.

Enjoy your half-term in February, Cornwall-style at the Eden Project. In fact, enjoy your Eden Project half-term 2024 with the kids as they learn loadsa stuff. Fun with science for free? You can’t ask for more than that!
