THE GREAT BRITISH SUMMER FETE CORNWALL TAKES PLACE AT MOUNT EDGCUMBE COUNTRY PARK ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 20 AND 21 AUGUST 2022

Why not enjoy the best o’ British at a fab summer fete at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park in Cremyll, near Plymouth and Looe, on the weekend of 20 and 21 August? The Great British Summer Fete 2022 features all sorts of live music, stalls and entertainment on both the Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of the beautiful house and estate on Cornwall’s serene south coast.

The fete is especially great for kids and families as alongside the live music, there’s a raft of traditional British children’s entertainment, including a big bouncy castle. Then there are a series of circus workshops, traditional British games to join in and the most British of puppet performances: a Punch and Judy show. And, only on the Saturday, the rugrats can marvel at some high octane fire eating performances before enjoying such a unique British event on the Sunday only: pig racing.

For the adults, don’t miss the oh-so-British Pimms bar that’s being put on throughout the weekend. And there’s something for the dog too: don’t forget to bring Fido along to a fun charity dog show, also held on both days. That should be howling good fun for the whole family. A whole load of street food spots are also bubbling away at the fete alongside artisanal craft and gift stalls. Plus, kids and big kids can get stuck into an array of creative workshops on the site over both days.

The event, which features free parking if you purchase a ticket beforehand, is billed by the organisers at Miss Ivy Events as a bit of British English tradition in the stunning surrounds of Mount Edgcumbe. It will actually be staged at the bottom of the country park near the Orangery eatery and wedding venue. It also promises to ‘provide a whole host of fun and entertainment for young and not so young alike’. Live music over the weekend includes performances from Cornwall’s own Girl Friday and the Cornwall Rock Choir. So get on down to a weekend of British fun, hopefully in the hot August sun.
