HALLOWEEN HALF TERM 2023 AT PENDENNIS CASTLE TAKES PLACE OVER THE WHOLE SCHOOL HOLIDAY WEEK BETWEEN SATURDAY 21 AND SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER 2023. THERE’S PLENTY OF FUN, CREEPY EVENTS FOR THE KIDS EVERY DAY
October half-term 2023 in Cornwall is set to be a chilling one. If you go to Pendennis Castle, that is!
Set a Halloween event in a castle and you’ve already got the recipe for some scary fun. Halloween Half Term 2023 at Pendennis Castle should be a total scream. Between 10am and 5pm every day from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 October 2023, parents and carers can gather their little monsters and prepare for a ‘ghoulishly good day out’ at the historic Falmouth castle.
The castle, which isn’t far off celebrating its 500th birthday, was originally a gun fort back in the mid-16th century. It has seen its fair share of battles and bloodshed and, thus, it’s also seen its fair share of ghouls and ghosties…
But now it saves its haunting stories for the Halloween season. For kids, actually. Expect some spooky-yet-fun-filled adventures at the castle throughout the Cornwall 2023 October half-term. Yes, that means fun for your monsters and little demons of all ages.
Storytellers will be out in force across the castle grounds during your visit. The tales are, of course, all kid-friendly and are all set against the backdrop of the creepy attraction. Stories about sea monsters and ghostly kings are the order of the day.
Other activities for little imps include watching the castle’s team ‘brew up mad cures in a mighty cauldron’ using actual medicine recipes from days gone by. Plus, between Saturday 21 October and Sunday 5 November 2023, there’s a ‘Halloween quest’ around the site where youngsters can look for magical potion ingredients. Also complete a brilliant booklet of terrifying tasks and creepy clues to become a wicked witch’s apprentice.
A massive comic-al bonus to the whole half-term week in 2022 was that the ‘Beano’ was involved with the daily frights. Classic characters like Dennis and Gnasher were part of a ‘family fun quest’ that took place on the castle grounds. But this year there’s a different vibe to the half-term activities with witches and potions certainly the flavour of the day.
Aside from the Halloween fun throughout the week, there are also always lots of other activities at the castle, including tales from the Second World War at the recreated Battery Observation Post bunker. Plus, there’s the castle’s weaponry and defences to explore as adults get to have just as much fun as the kids at this historical castle that’s managed by English Heritage.
Little devils and their families need to grab their tickets now before they spend their Halloween Half Term 2023 at Falmouth‘s exciting resident castle. Boil, boil, toil and trouble…
