THERE’S BEEN A MURDER! ‘IN THE DEAD OF WINTER: A MURDER MYSTERY’ SPECIAL TAKES PLACE AT THE ROYAL CORNWALL MUSEUM ON FRIDAY 24 FEBRUARY. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE CLUES…

Here’s a shot in the dark: are you into museums, murder mysteries and ace activities? If so, you’re in for a treat on Friday 24 February, between 6pm and 8pm, as the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro holds its ‘In The Dead of Winter: A Murder Mystery at the Museum’ event for all you super sleuths out there. This may be the best murder mystery in Cornwall!

The museum will open late on 24 February and will dedicate itself to a special version of the mystery that ran at the RCM over the winter months, finishing earlier this month. If you did that mystery though, do not fear as this one-night-only special features new clues and a different culprit. Anyone can take part. Tickets are £5 and can be booked: here.

Here’s the story as it was over the winter: sadly, the curator of the museum was murdered at the facility’s winter party in 1821. You enter the museum in 1921, a full 100 years after the grisly tragedy. And you are tasked with finally solving the case by exploring the museum and searching for all those vital clues and suspects that are hidden away in nooks and crannies.

It’s said that there have been ghostly sightings of the murdered curator that have spooked visitors to the museum. There have been wails heard coming from the building. Objects have been seen appearing and disappearing inside the museum. There’s an uneasy atmosphere and a historical case to crack…

Frankly, it’s a genius idea to hold an atmospheric murder mystery inside Cornwall’s biggest museum. Bring your own torch on Friday 24 February and historical garb is encouraged. Will you crack the case of the murdered curator in the museum by torchlight?
