JENNY DYSON AND FRIENDS PLAY ST ENDELLION CHURCH ON SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER 2022. LET THIS FABULOUS FLAUTIST TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN AND BACH. WITH HER PALS, OF COURSE

It’s as if the church was made for the flute. A concert by a flautist just fills a house of religion so beautifully. Expect Jenny Dyson to fill Cornwall’s Collegiate Church of St Endellion in the parish of St Endellion near Port Isaac with the fabulous sounds of the flute when she plays a special concert with her friends on Saturday 8 October.

Jenny Dyson plays the idyllic countryside church, where the St Endellion Easter Festival and St Endellion Summer Festival take place every year, from 7.30pm on the Saturday. The flautist, who is also a chamber and orchestral musician teacher and ensemble coach, has played the church before. A spokesman for the event says: “We are delighted to have her returning to St Endellion, along with some special guests, to perform music from the likes of Bach and Ibert.”

Dyson studied with the principle flute of the BBC Philharmonic, Richard Davis, at the Royal Northern College of Music. She has received a fair few awards for her music over the past few years, including the Trevor Wye Prize for Chamber Music, the Pat Barney Flute Prize and the June Emerson Wind Music Launchpad Prize. She was also a finalist in 2013’s RNCM Gold Medal Soloist Competition, where she was selected by the chairman of EMI records, no less.

The artist, who has played the Bridgewater Hall stage in Manchester alongside plenty more big gigs, returns to the heavenly surrounds of the Collegiate Church of St Endellion for an up-close-and-personal affair for music lovers from across Cornwall. Prepare for something a little special in St Endellion this October. Book your tickets now.
