THE PETS CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE 2023 TAKES PLACE AT TRURO CATHEDRAL ON SATURDAY 30 DECEMBER 2023. BRING YOUR DOG, CAT, HAMSTER OR RABBIT AND ENJOY A CUTE, CUDDLY CORNISH CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER...

Our dogs, cats, snakes and budgies often get a raw deal at Christmas. As the festivities ramp up, they can get forgotten in all the wrapping, cooking, family visits and excitement. But not at Truro Cathedral. Here, our best furry friends get a carol service just for them and their owners to toast the bond we have with our pets at this most sacred time of the year.

Yes, the much-loved Truro Cathedral Pets Carol Service 2023 is set to be a seasonal highlight in the city. Of course, dogs are the most popular visitors, many of them howling along to such tunes as ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’, but cats have also been known to turn up, as well as hamsters, donkeys, parrots and horses. Basically, any beloved beast is welcome.

Seriously, many people go to Truro Cathedral at Christmas to light candles for long lost friends and relatives or to enjoy the different seasonal services. Or, at least, to enjoy the festive bites in the popular cathedral café. But this service for pets is lighthearted, often amusing and really does pay tribute to the animals that make our lives special.

Booking is not necessary for the service, which takes place between 2.30pm and 4pm on Saturday 30 December 2023. Just turn up with whatever creature you have a special bond with and enjoy the experience. Plus, bring a few quid to donate as the cathedral stays open throughout the year to put on services like this highly unique one.

Bring your dog, cat, worm, cockroach, cow, sheep or little brother to the service. Literally, bring along any little critter. Like Noah’s Ark, they’re all welcome. Except, maybe, the turkey. Yeah, you shouldn’t really have a turkey in your house in the final few days of December anyway…
