THE SALTASH REGATTA 2024 (AND WATERSIDE FESTIVAL!) TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY 13 AND SUNDAY 14 JULY 2024. HEAD TO THE TAMAR RIVERSIDE FOR ONE OF THE BEST REGATTAS IN CORNWALL 2024…

A regatta should be as entertaining on dry land as it is out on the water. The Saltash Regatta and Waterside Festival 2024 should indeed be just this, as this annual waterside extravaganza is built for the landlubbers as much as the river sailors.

Head to the waterfront at Saltash, under those mighty arches over the River Tamar that join Saltash to Plymouth, to catch this small-yet-mighty regatta which takes place over the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July 2024.

What to expect at this regatta, which isn’t too far from Looe and Liskeard? Well, at the 2023 edition there was a grand parade on the Saturday which began at Victoria Gardens and made its way to the waterfront via Fore Street and Lower Fore Street. There was also a ‘photo hunt’ on the Sunday that was organised by Redeemer Church Saltash. This could be on the cards again in 2024.

Also at the two-day 2023 regatta, there was a bustling market that featured more than 100 food, drink, handmade crafts and charity stalls on both days, plus there was a ‘paint party’ on Brunel Green and a Dog Show alongside live music on both Jubilee Green and Waterside Green. Expect more of the same in 2024!

As for the seaworthy events, in 2023 there was a paddleboat relay, a cardboard boat race and a whole lotta dinghy races. Of course, the thrills and spills out on the River Tamar are the beating heart of this regatta. Expect plenty of inflatables for the kids to play on in 2024, as well as an an array of ‘pop-up entertainment’ on both days for young and old alike.

Where’s the best place to watch the Saltash Regatta? Traditionally, all along the Saltash waterfront, to be fair, from Saltash Sailing Club right down to Brunel Green. Car parking is usually ample too, with a few car parks not far from the waterfront. And then find your spot and prepare for one of the best 2024 regattas in Cornwall.

Prepare your sun cream and sandals for one of the best regattas in the Duchy. Join hundreds of other people on the banks of the Tamar for the 2024 Saltash Regatta.
