JULIA DONALDSON AND AXEL SCHEFFLER’S MUCH-ADORED DRAGON ZOG ROARS INTO THE EDEN PROJECT IN CORNWALL FOR A MAGICAL OCTOBER 2025 HALF-TERM

“Zog, the biggest dragon, was the keenest one by far. He tried his hardest every day to win a golden star.” Are you going to be the keenest dragon and head to the Eden Project near St Austell during the October half-term 2025 in Cornwall to catch this magnificent beast?

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book character Zog is making a special appearance at the famous venue between 25 October and 2 November 2025.

The fun-filled programme is based on the massively popular book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, which sees Zog the dragon act as an ‘air ambulance’ to doctors Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout.

A spokesman for Eden says: “Known for overcoming challenges and caring for others in need, Zog, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout will invite visitors to join them on a botanical quest, bringing a new challenge for families enjoying a fascinating journey around the iconic Biomes and beautiful Outdoor Gardens.

“Explorers will have the opportunity to set off on their own mystical mission to help Zog and the Flying Doctors by uncovering special ingredients hidden around the site. As they go, visitors will discover characters from the story, fun facts, and clues to help them solve an intriguing puzzle.”

The spokesman says that the trail will culminate in a ‘Zog and the Flying Doctors experience’ in the centre of the beautiful Mediterranean Biome ‘where families can put themselves into the final scene of the story and speed away into the sky on Zog’s back’.

“What’s more,” adds the spokesman, “adventurers will have the chance to meet and capture a memorable moment with Zog himself who will be appearing throughout each day in the Pavilion.”

The team at the Eden Project are encouraging visitors to go along dressed up in their ‘best Zog-inspired costumes’ and share their favourite photos to the venue’s social media channels.

Halloween fun is also on the menu during the October 2025 half term. In the Core building, families can explore their potion-making skills, using natural ingredients to create their own ‘Halloweden potions’ to take home with them. The half term also marks the return of the venue’s ice rink, where guests can enjoy skating in a magical setting.
