Once upon a time, no-one in Europe had ever heard of a Black Friday. But as soon as this day for bargains that originated in the USA hit global headlines, it wasn’t long before it became an annual fixture over here too.
And now 2023 Black Friday Cornwall, which takes place on Friday 24 November 2023, is a day for local discounts and deals in stores across the Duchy. To be honest, it kinda starts at the onset of November but the 24th is the big day.
In some places, Black Friday has ballooned into a month-long influx of discounts and deals that eager shoppers can take advantage of in the run-up to Christmas. But in most places, it’s all about the big day and then, perhaps, it’s about the online bargains that take place on the following Cyber Monday.
Tens of thousands of brands and retailers are expected to take part in these days for deals. Bargains can be snapped up on anything from electrical goods and beauty products to clothes, tech devices and household items.
This is a great time to get a load of Christmas shopping in Cornwall out of the way while making some handy savings at the same time. In Cornwall’s participating stores, it’s highly unlikely to see the massive queues, arguments and even fights that we’ve all seen happening in shops on the other side of the pond.
But it is likely that the early bird catches the best bargains on the big day. Competition for deals may be fiercer than ever in 2023 given the nature of the global economic situation.
In all honesty, though, most Cornish bargain hunters will be doing so from the comfort of their own homes during Cornwall Black Friday 2023. There could be deals from the likes of Currys, Argos and Amazon alongside countless other businesses across the Duchy. Some stores may even open earlier so keep an eye open.
