CORNWALL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024 TAKES PLACE IN TRURO BETWEEN MONDAY 11 AND SATURDAY 16 MARCH 2024. SOME OF THE BEST CORNISH TALENT WILL PERFORM MUSIC AND POETRY AT THE EVENT IN TRURO METHODIST CHURCH
Cornwall is a hotbed of talent but it isn’t often you can catch hundreds of its best musicians and performers all in one place over one week. The Cornwall Music Festival 2024, thankfully, does just that, though.
The festival takes place at Truro Methodist Church in Union Place, Truro, between Monday 11 and Saturday 16 March 2024. Expect an array of musical events that each champion the wealth of talent we have here in Cornwall.
The 2024 Cornwall Music Festival provides an annual platform for talented amateur musicians and verse speakers from all backgrounds and of all ages and abilities. Organisers say that it ‘gives the stimulus of preparing for a public occasion and an opportunity to listen and learn from the performances of others’.
Aside from two big concerts, expect classes to run from 9.30am to 9.30pm throughout the week, with morning, afternoon and evening sessions. Plus, there’s a few new additions to the 2024 festival, including the introduction of soul bands in the fest’s ‘rock and pop’ section and the introduction of a new non-competitive choir class.
The opening concert at the methodist church is one of the major highlights of the week. Performers from the 2023 festival will join the Cornwall Youth Brass Ensemble in the show, which starts at 7.30pm on Monday 11 March 2024. Tickets are £5 on the door.
The closing concert is the other big highlight as it features plenty of musicians and vocalists who have taken part in the 2024 festival. This will again be at the church. It takes place on Saturday 16 March 2024, starts at 7pm and includes Special Awards prizegiving.
Head to the official website and download the programme to discover more about the 2024 Cornwall Music Festival Truro as there’s tons going on throughout the week.
Supporting the festival is not just about supporting the local musicians and performers. It’s also about supporting the organisers and helpers as it is run on an entirely voluntary basis. So either get involved yourself or at least catch one of those two incredible concerts at the church. This may be the best way to celebrate Cornwall’s wealth of local talent.
