THE CORNWALL ROCKS 2023 MUSIC FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE AT TENCREEK HOLIDAY PARK IN LOOE BETWEEN FRIDAY 6 AND SUNDAY 8 OCTOBER. EXPECT SOME OF THE BEST ROCK AND METAL BANDS IN THE UK TO PLAY THIS ANNUAL FEST!

Cornwall does rock, doesn’t it? It certainly does when the three-day Cornwall Rocks 2023 live music festival rocks up to Tencreek Holiday Park in Looe in mid-October. This fully-charged rock music fest, which was a blast last year and should be even bigger and more rockin’ this autumn, packs in some of the biggest names in Britmetal over the past 50 years. Have we said ‘rocks’ enough yet?

Cornwall Rocks 2023, which takes place on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October, is pretty intimate and lots of fun, drawing a good post-summer crowd from across the UK. Prepare for some of the best British rock acts to carry the metal flag over the past few decades to grace the stage at one of the best rock festivals in Cornwall 2022.

Atomic Rooster headline the Sunday night. The much-loved rock and prog rock band are in their third stint after taking the world by storm between 1969 and 1975, and then again between 1980 and 1983. The act, which was put together all those years ago by former members of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown alongside drummer Carl Palmer and late organist Vincent Crane, reformed in 2016 and has once again been blowing audiences away with its diverse, powerful sound.

FM headline the Saturday at Cornwall Rocks 2023

FM headline the Saturday night at Cornwall Rocks 2023. This incredible British rock band, with 13 studio albums behind it, was formed in 1984 by singer Steve Overland and his brother, guitarist Chris, alongside drummer Pete Jupp and bassist Merv Goldsworthy. Joined by the keyboard talents of Didge Digital, by December 1984 they had secured a recording contract and in September 1986, debut album ‘Indiscreet’ was released to great critical acclaim. And the rest is indeed history. There was a 12-year hiatus for the band but they reformed in 2007 and have been rocking ever since.

British blues-rock band When Rivers Meet headline the Friday night after the Greyfox Conspiracy, the Billy Walton Band and Departed both open up the fest. Other cracking acts to watch out for over the weekend include Desensitised, Half Moon Panic and Black Water Redemption on the Saturday, as well as White Raven Down and Jack J.Hutchinson on the Sunday.

Plus, lest we not forget The Hot Damn!, an all-girl rock group who should set the festival aflame on the Saturday with their unique brand of tie dye, cute ‘n’ chaotic attitude and colourful music. And also don’t miss Cambridge’s Sweet Crisis and their ‘guitar-driven rock ‘n’ roll sound.

Cornish metal band King Creature headlined the Friday at the 2022 edition of the fest and blew their fans away on home soil. The big draw for the 2022 fest were the Saturday headliners Tygers of Pan Tang, who simply rocked the joint. Sunday night’s headliners last year, Grand Slam, also had them moshing in the aisles. Other celebrated sets were from Collateral, Gypsy’s Kiss, Sons of Liber, Hawklords and Thunderstick.

In short, expect more of the same for the October 2023 Cornwall rock music festival: big names and rising stars of the scene. There’s a great atmosphere at this fest, hence so many rockers coming back year after year. It’s recommended to stay in one of Tencreek’s holiday caravans so you can enjoy all three nights as well as the facilities during the day. But options for single nights or just rocking up for the gigs without accommodation are also available. Just remember to wear your coolest rock and metal gear before you enjoy, quite literally, some of the best live acts touring the UK today. For those about to rock in Cornwall: we salute you.
