FOOTLOOSE BY STAGE STRUCK THEATRE COMPANY TAKES PLACE AT THE CENTRE NEWLYN IN PENZANCE BETWEEN FRIDAY 15 AND SUNDAY 17 MARCH 2024. CATCH THE 80s MUSICAL BY THIS TALENTED LOCAL AMATEUR DRAMATICS TEAM…

Few movie musicals get the heart pumping quite like 1984’s ‘Footloose’. The film, which mixes dramatic numbers with intense rock ‘n’ roll-inspired dancing, has remained a hit since its release 40 years ago.

The movie, which follows Kevin Bacon’s rebellious Ren McCormack as he tries to overturn a ban on dancing and rock music in his small American town, also inspired many musical stage spin-offs which equal the verve of the original flick.

And the latest such stage musical is taking place in Penzance between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 March 2024. Prepare for a rousing revival of the hit film by Newlyn’s talented local amateur dramatics group, Stage Struck Theatre Company.

Book your tickets now for the musical at The Centre Newlyn, which is in the Newlyn portion of the Cornish town. Call the box office on 01736 365890 or see the company’s Facebook page by clicking the ‘Website’ link above. Aside from the three nights, there’s also a Saturday matinee, which begins at 2pm. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 7.30pm and it’s 6.30pm on the Sunday.

Ther production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. Expect drama, intimate moments and those high-octane numbers that’ll get you dancing into the streets of Newlyn long after the final curtain closes. Enjoy!
