ROCK OYSTER FESTIVAL 2024 IS ON BETWEEN THURSDAY 25 AND SUNDAY 28 JULY 2024. WELCOME TO ONE OF THE BEST FOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVALS IN CORNWALL 2024, FEATURING THE SUGABABES AND BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB…

For those about to go to Rock, we salute you! Yes, you may be thinking rock music here but the Rock Oyster Festival 2024, between Thursday 25 and Sunday 28 July 2024, is about so much more than just one musical genre.

This much-loved festival is actually about some of the best bands and artists in the business, representing all sorts of musical genres, meeting some of the best grub for miles around, all wowing the crowds over one awesome long weekend of fun, food, family and festivities at Dinham House, St Minver, between Rock and Wadebridge.

Who is playing the Rock Oyster Festival 2024? Sugababes are headlining on the Saturday and Bombay Bicycle Club headline the Sunday. Also on the bill are CMAT, Billie Marten, Newton Faulkner, Gentleman’s Dub Club, A.Skillz, Mista Trick Collective, Wille and the Bandits and many other acts, some still to be announced. We will let you know who they are when we know.

And on the food side of things? What chefs cook at the Rock Oyster Festival 2024? Nathan Outlaw, Thuy Diem Pham, Emily Scott, Tom Brown, Jude Kereama, Mark Hix and many other culinary stars are also on the menu over the four days.

Jack Stein, chef director across the oh-so-Cornwall-associated Rick Stein restaurant group and Rick Stein’s son, is also on the bill. He is no stranger to this festival. At the 2023 edition, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall was there, as were Mark Hix, Andi Oliver and Jack Stein.

As for the music, in 2023 the inimitable Nile Rodgers and Chic, Groove Armada, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Big Moon all headlined and all rocked, rolled and drew some of the biggest crowd’s in the event’s history. Also on the bill in 2023 were the likes of the House Gospel Choir, Gwenno and Don Letts.

Expect a slew of famous restaurants popping up in the Chefs Tipis, as well as demonstrations and masterclasses from some of the UK’s most talented cooks ‘n’ chefs and even some long-table feasts by the Camel Estuary.

Also expect food stalls, kids’ entertainment and much more besides to enjoy alongside the big name musical acts who play to huge crowds. For example, in the past there has been foraging, archery and circus skills workshops, as well as bellyboard painting and hip-hop yoga.

This festival does have everything, especially if you love good grub, top tunes and a lively atmosphere that appeals to all ages. If music be the food of love, then play on at the Rock Oyster Festival 2024. There. We managed to do all that without talking about the real stars of this fest: those lovely, lovely oysters…
