THE ST IVES SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL 2024 IS HELD BETWEEN SATURDAY 14 AND SATURDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2024 IN THIS WONDERFUL NORTH COAST TOWN. ENJOY MUSIC CONCERTS, ART, STREET ENTERTAINMENT, FILMS AND MUCH MORE…

St Ives is worth exploring at any time of the year. But it’s really worth exploring during the St Ives September Festival 2024, an annual 15-day ‘extravaganza of music and arts’. Taking place between Saturday 14 and Saturday 28 September 2024, this festival brings the pretty seaside town alive with performances, films, open studios, workshops, talks and art galore.

The venues for the events that fall under the St Ives September Festival 2024 banner are peppered all over town, from the Tate St Ives gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden to the Porthmeor Studios, Royal Cinema and Sloop Studio.

Many galleries put on special exhibitions just for the occasion and then there are film showings at various times for visitors and locals alike. Head to the official website for the full rundown of events, film showings, activities and venues.

Expect a dizzying array of music on every day and night too at the September St Ives 2024 festival. At the 2023 edition for example, Dee and Dave Brotherton, who are ‘influenced by The Beatles’, played a Sunday gig at the Guildhall Council Chamber before Show of Hands played The Guildhall on the same night.

Other highlight gigs included The Three Degrees (yes, you read that right) at the St Ives Guildhall on a Wednesday, Nicole Tesseyman (read all about her: here) at the Arts Club on a Friday and True Foxes at St Ia Church on a Friday night. We will update gigs as and when they are announced in 2024 but we recommend you get the full programme at the official website.

And that’s just the music. Then there are always a ton of arts and crafts workshops to join, including comedy classes, abstract drawing sessions and book-making workshops. As in making books.

The annual themed walks around town are recommended. They cover anything from archeology and mysteries to buildings once frequented by famous writers and celebrities. Plus, the festival is aimed as much at young people as it is at grown-ups with kids shows and workshops throughout. Something for everyone, basically. You’ll need to scour the official website to discover all the events over the 15 days.

Comedy, theatre shows, gigs, films, exhibitions, poetry, talks, open studios. The list just goes on as it seems the whole town puts on something for the festival. If you thought St Ives was dedicated to art, see it during September 2024. It isn’t dedicated to art. It lives and breathes art. And it wants to share that with you up close and personally.
