THE GREAT ESTATE 2024 FESTIVAL IS EXPECTED TO TAKE PLACE IN JUNE 2024 AT SCORRIER HOUSE NEAR REDRUTH. ENJOY SOME OF THE BEST BANDS EVER IN THIS INCREDIBLE 2024 CORNWALL MUSIC FESTIVAL…
One of Cornwall’s most high-octane music festivals is expected to take place at Scorrier House on the edge of Redruth in June 2024. Dates and details for the most ‘rambunctious garden fete’ in Europe, better known as The Great Estate 2024, have not yet been released but as soon as they are, we will let you know.
The Great Estate 2024 follows a superb 2023 edition of the event that was headlined by Primal Scream. A huge crowd got their rocks off to that and tons of other acts like Symphonic Ibiza and DJ Andy Joyce, who brought their full orchestra to play classic EDM hits. Other acts on the bill included Bez from the Happy Mondays who played a DJ set and comedy-music maestros The Cuban Brothers.
The 2023 edition was in early June so the 2024 fest may follow suit. As soon as tickets are on sale, we will let you know.
The Great Estate 2023 followed a fab 2022 event that included the likes of the Manic Street Preachers, Ibibio Sound Machine, Black Grape, The Sugarhill Gang, Electric Six, DJ Yoda Dick Valentine and Ted Jasper.
The 2024 fest will be the seventh edition of a festival that’s aimed at both grown-ups and little ones. In fact, the emphasis of The Great Estate isn’t just on the incredible music acts that play to the crowds but also on all sorts of events and activities that take place throughout each day. In past years, the team has laid on a veritable cacophony of epic events that are literally aimed at all ages, the only shared ingredient being fun with a sprinkling of crazy antics.
The stages at the 2023 event included the BBC Music Introducing stage, Madame Wong’s House of Wrong, the Earth and Roots Stage, the Stage on the Green and more. There was also The Secret Gin Garden but shhhh cos that’s a secret. There was a cabaret, a junior jungle, a ‘monkey puzzle trail’ for families, a ‘festival safari’, circus workshops, a hip-hop karaoke, a ‘demon drone’, gin foraging, a silent disco and, of course, glamping options.
Yes, a lot goes on at The Great Estate to accompany the quality live music. And the manor house at Scorrier also comes alive with colour throughout the fest as multimedia artists project dramatic visuals on to it. It’s a full-on affair from start to finish and it will be back with a bang in 2024, so, well, what are you waiting for? Grab those tickets when they go on sale and get all rambunctious with other zany music fans! Yeah, we still don’t know what ‘rambunctious’ means…
