CHARMING HARBOUR TOWN: FOWEY

Charming, welcoming and and historic. That sums up Fowey, a pretty harbour town down on Cornwall’s south coast that sits on the estuary of the River Fowey. There is much to offer here, from excellent seafood restaurants and charming shops to a range of marine-based activities like sea fishing, diving, kayaking and even dolphin spotting. This town is also famous for its events that are staged throughout the year, like the always action-packed Daphne Du Maurier Festival and the much-loved Fowey Regatta. This place really is a good base for exploring the south coast and it’s worth just spending a few days here anyway to soak up those charming views of the harbour alongside superb seafood dishes and walks along the coastline.
