SLEEPY, SERENE AND STUNNING: POLPERRO

You’ll be hard pressed to find a sleepier fishing village in the UK than Polperro. Sitting pretty on Cornwall’s southern coastline, this harbour just begs to be explored. There are a few gift shops around for the tourists but otherwise this is a quaint old village that still feels like it’s operating two centuries ago. Narrow streets and pretty cottages abound, with some roads closed, so the best way to explore the area is on foot. Arts and crafts take centre stage at a range of shops and galleries like the Polperro Arts Foundation, and there’s always a decent roster of events throughout the year. This pretty place can be visited at any time, especially when the sun is high and the waves are crashing along the rugged coastline on the edges of this fascinating village.
