KING ARTHUR AND HIS CORNISH ROUND TABLE: TINTAGEL

King Arthur. His round table. His knights. Merlin. It’s all here in Tintagel. Okay, so there’s no evidence that the legendary king lived here or that Merlin was real at all but that doesn’t matter: this place is all about the stories and myths, creating a medieval atmosphere like nowhere else in the UK. The village’s star is the ruined Tintagel Castle that broods over the coastline but other attractions like Merlin’s Cave and the Great Halls make for a legendary experience for all visitors. Aside from Arthurian themes, though, the village is quaint and the coastal walks around here are nothing short of spectacular.
