ENYS HOUSE SANTA’S GROTTO 2023 IS OPEN TO ALL KIDS AND FAMILIES FROM ACROSS CORNWALL AND BEYOND. THE HOUSE IS SITUATED NEAR PENRYN SO SANTA HAS HAD TO COME A FAIR WAY FROM THE NORTH POLE FOR THIS GROTTO…
Enys House lies on the edge of Penryn on the outskirts of Falmouth. It sits on an estate that’s known for its beautiful gardens and woodlands. In the winter, a magical wonderland envelops Enys Gardens and House but do you know what makes this place even more festive? Yes, Santa’s coming to play!
The Enys House 2023 Santa’s Grotto event takes place every day between Saturday 16 and Saturday 23 December 2023. There are timed entry slots for kids and families, basically ‘one for every half hour from first entry at 10am to last entry at 2pm’, say the organisers.
Youngsters and their families are being invited to ‘meet Father Christmas and his enchanted woodland helpers for a magical festive experience’. There’s not just the gift giving in this grotto, either. Expect ‘family activities’ and a storytelling session with Santa as part of the whole experience.
Each Christmas grotto visit lasts for 45 minutes as long as you arrive on time for your allocated entry slot. All kids, of course, must be accompanied by either a parent or guardian. This is not a private grotto, however, so you will share the experience with other children and families. But that only adds to the magic…
Craft activities will be part of the experience and every child will get a ‘beautiful keepsake memento to treasure at home’. Of course, there are plenty of photo opportunities throughout as well.
The small events company behind the Enys House 2023 Father Christmas Grotto in Cornwall held the event for the first time last Christmas and due to its success they are doing so again this year.
Enys Gardens and House’s season runs between April and the end of September every year. Visitors get to explore the gardens, woodlands and old buildings, including the Mansion House that dates back to the 1830s and used granite from a local quarry on the estate in its construction. The house only opens occasionally for events so this Santa’s Grotto is a good chance to peer within its walls.
So, looking for more than just a quick grotto experience? Book your place at Enys House this year and enjoy stories with Father Christmas inside a majestic Cornish Mansion House that’s rarely open to the public. Have a good one!
