FALMOUTH WEEK 2024: CATCH ALL THE RACES, LIVE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT BETWEEN FRIDAY 9 AND SUNDAY 18 AUGUST 2024, WITH FALMOUTH SAILING WEEK 2024 TAKING PLACE FROM 11 TO 17 AUGUST 2024. HERE’S YOUR LOWDOWN…
For 10 days between Friday 9 and Sunday 18 August 2024, Cornwall’s southern jewel Falmouth becomes the backdrop for a mesmerising cacophony of happenings both on and off the land as all eyes turn to the annual Falmouth Week 2024 festivities.
Prepare for spills and thrills as daring extreme sports are performed on the harbourside alongside classic races. And definitely look forward to bellyaches full bellies as some of Cornwall’s finest foods flock to the pretty seaside town.
Falmouth Week dates back at least as far as 1837, when it was a small local regatta. But over the years, it’s become one of the South West’s biggest sailing competitions that takes place alongside almost two weeks of activities and entertainment in the world’s third deepest harbour and in the fabulous town that accompanies it.
Falmouth Week 2023 was packed to the rafters with events, both on and off the shore. Expect the 2024 edition to be no different. Expect, in fact, a whole host of family activities at The Moor alongside the possibility of a 40-foot Victorian carousel returning. There’ll be loads of evening entertainment, big music concerts, markets and marching carnivals too. This 10-day fest has it all.
One of the big highlights in 2023 was Falmouth Rocks 2023, which starred two massive tribute rock acts. This extravaganza could make a return in 2024. The fab Lightning Seeds also played Falmouth‘s waterfront during the 2023 edition so expect some big names in concert during Falmouth Week 2024.
Also expect loads of family friendly activities taking place over the 10 days in 2024, including interactive games, children’s entertainment and that market that has something for everyone.
And let’s not forget that this whole fest started out as a sailing regatta, so out in the harbour and bay there are races galore, as well as a fair few boat parades too. Some events require tickets but many of the events are always free for all. So without fail here’s a rundown of the highlights to expect at Falmouth week 2024!

We know there’s always a few Falmouth Week 2024 questions circulating the Fal Estuary before the festivities begin. Well, here we answer them for you, so you can navigate yourself around this exciting fest…
What time are the Red Arrows on at Falmouth Week 2024?: The Red Arrows are traditionally one of the biggest draws of the week, showing that this festival really has evolved to cover land, sea and sky. However, in 2024 they are not making a return appearance. There is however already an aerial display confirmed featuring the Jet Pitts, The Titans and the Aerosuperbatic Wingwalkers. So no matter what happens there will be aerial thrills above Falmouth again in 2024!
Where’s the best place to watch the Falmouth Week fireworks 2024?: Another aerial favourite is the annual firework display that lights up the sky over the harbour. In 2023, this was on Friday 11 August 2023 from 10pm. Watch this space in 2024 for announcements on the day, time and details. The best vantage points are traditionally from Events Square, Custom House Quay and all around Falmouth Harbour. Also recommended are the Docks Lookout Point and the Prince of Wales Pier. If the weather is poor, though, then the display is likely to happen at the same time on the Saturday instead.
Where’s the best place to watch the Falmouth Week 2024 races?: The famous sailing races take place out there on the water between Saturday 11 August and Saturday 17 August 2024. Head to Falmouth‘s seafront and harbourside to get the best views of the races but prepare for big crowds if you haven’t got up with the lark to reserve a spot.
Instead, we recommend viewing the action from the River Fal’s many banks or, in fact, on the Pendennis Headland which juts out into the estuary and is home to Pendennis Castle. Both areas showcase the races as well as the town’s seafront with the added bonus of some beautiful scenery and fewer crowds.
Where’s the best place to park for Falmouth Week 2024? Protip: get there early each day if you want to find a parking space easily. Town Quarry car park in Quarry Hill and maybe Well Lane Car Park in New Street are your best bets.
What’s on at Falmouth Week 2024?: Loads of stuff! Watch this space for all the gigs, comedy, food and fun over the entire week. We will let you know as soon as we know!
